Hi Guys,
I've just assembled a Super Sport 40S, and have installed an OS46AX which was involved in a crash a month ago.
I have opened the Carb and cleaned it, as well as opened the backplate.
The engine did not seem to have any damage due to the crash.
Now... when I start up the engine, it Idles normal, but keeps on stalling (stopping) when I increase the throttle.
It runs normal on high power, as long as I do not remove the glowstarter.
I've checked the glowplug and it glows full bright.
What could please be the reason for this...?
All help very much appreciated,
Thanks and Brgds,
Biggles

I think you need to change the plug firstly. Also, if it holds when the glow is in is the engine peaking? Might it be on the rich side? When you throttle up, does the engine cut abrupty or gurgles a bit before it does stop? If it gurgles then the LOW END is too rich.

I agree just because it glows brightly when the glow starter is on doesnt mean the plug cant be bad. They can fizzel before they burn out and just dont stay hot enough when power isnt applied.

Thanks for the early reply.
I will change the nr 8, glowplug, out of stock now.
The engine is set for peak RPM and does not gurgle before it stops.
I just tried again running it, and the situation is now slightly changed... most of the time I can remove the glowstarter at high power, but the engine now abruptly dies when going back to Idle.
The Idle speeds seems OK, not too low.
Thanks for further replies,
