Default muffler problems

i have an older saito 1.50, and cant keep the muffler on it. the pipe stays screwed into the head, but the muffler itself keeps backing out. now, after a few times of coming loose and vibrating, it wont screw up tight anymore. is there something i can do to fix this without replacing the muffler. thanks.

Try some teflon plumbers tape, use it on the threads in the head too.

Do you have the locking nut jammed up against the muffler? I was wondering if you had lost the nut?

Enjoy,

Jim

the jam nut was tight against the muffler. i guess after vibrating so much, the threads are not the best anymore. thought about j.b. weld, but didnt think it was heat proof. thanks.

The new mufflers and pipes are made different. If you want to replace one componnent, you will have to buy6 the whole assembly to get it to work.

JB weld will work pretty well in a captive situation like locked in the threads.

Enjoy,

Jim

See if you can balance the prop, spinner, and back plate....and cut down on
the vibration. It shouldn't be throwing the muffler off like that. []
