I have a new Super Tiger 40 Ringed, I mounted it on a Super Decathlon, I broke the engine in by the book. Was running alittle rough at first but it came on after a couple tanks of fuel. Took it to the field, Where a friend tried to tune it better for me, He turned the Low-End Needle and now it cuts out when you let off the throttle it always starts back with ease. I can not find out how many turns the Low-End should be at "For a starting point"
I am using Cool Power 15% & The plug that came with the engine, I have even changed the plug to a Mccoy, Still does the same thing, It will run fine sometime's, Then just die sometimes at full throttle, But mostly from full to high speed idle or low idle, S I figured it has to be the low-end needle out of whack.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

There's only one way to properly set a ST low end needle. Put a short piece of fuel tubing on the carb nipple. Close the throttle to idle. Blow into the tubing while slowly opening the idle needle. Hole the engnie to your ear. When you can just hear air blowing through, you'll be within 1/4 either way of the proper setting.

A Super Tiger LS needle can also be set by placing the tip off the needle half way across the cat eye opening on the underside of the spray bar.
I personally just make sure the needles are out some and I see how the engine runs and adjust the needles accordingly.
Enjoy,
Jim

Thanks everyone, I just got finished trying to work out the problems. It still has a bad sputter when you shoot the gas to her. But everything seems to be okay, I'll run it some more tommorrow evening when I can see alittle better.
I do appreciate all the help on this,
