Default Hobby Services

I just wanted to take a sec to praise Hobby Services for doing a good job. They replaced my balky O.S. 70 Ultimate (Yeah...Ultimate POS... [:'(]) with a brand new .91II fourstroker, no fuss no muss. They even sent the replacement motor Next Day Air[8D]. Thanks, Tim.

Good job Hobby Services.

I believe that Ultimate 70 would be a good engine if it had no pump and a regular carb instead of that slide valve contraption?

Enjoy,

Jim

I take Hobby Services also refunded the difference in cost, as the Surpass II .91 costs less than the Ultimate 70.

No refund, but I still came out ahead as the LHS only charged me $250 for the Ultimate.

I guess now this engine can go on the one of the best engines out there list.

On the serious side , I'm just curious to know what problems were you having with the engine ?

The engine was impossible to tune, and would spit fuel from the carb. Aparrently, most of these Ultimates had the same or similar problems, as Hobby Services now simply replaces them no-questions-asked, and the engine is "Temporarily Unavailable" on Tower's website. Whatever, I got a bigger, brand-new motor for less than I would have paid for it otherwise, and went out and bought a Saito .82 to replace the Ultimate. Wheeee....!
