Has anyone ever heard of a Malonet 100 engine?

Default MaLONEY 100

the MOTOR CAME OUT IN THE 80'S AND WAS THE CREATION OF JOHN MALONEY OWNER OF WORLD ENGINES. IT WAS MADE IN KOREA AND WAS OF QUESTIONABLE QUALITY. IT HAD RELATIVELY LOW POWER IN COMPARISON TO IT'S WEIGHT. IT WAS NOT A RELIABLE HAND STARTER AND USUALLY A STARTER WAS NEEDED TO GET IT GOING ,IT WAS ALSO FRAGILE . A 125 VERSION REPLACER THE 100. IT WAS MARGINALLY BETTER BUT WITH THE DEATH OF MR MALONEY AND THE SALE OF WORLD ENGINES TO INDY RC IT WAS THE END OT THAT MOTOR. AN INTERESTING PIECE TO HAVE ON YOUR SHELF BUT I WOULDN'T CONSIDER RUNNING IT REGULARLY. PARTS ARE RELATIVELY SCARCE FOR IT. OH YES BOTH VERSIONS WERE ABSOLUTE MISERS ON FUEL. IN THAT DEPARTMENT THEY REALLY SHINED. AS A FOOTNOTE, DAVIS MODEL PRODUCTS MADE A DIESEL HEAD FOR THE 100 TO GET MORE POWER FROM IT. IT WORKED BUT CAME OUT TOO LATE TO DO ANYTHING FOR THE MOTOR. HOPE THIS HELPS

Hey,
That's a great history lesson. You have made my decision very easy.
Thanks very much.

Default History lesson

Hi,
I had a chance to buy one, but after the lesson I decided not to buy it.

I've got a new- never mounted - in the box 125 w/ muffler and every thing supplied - tools - air scoop etc. --- down in the basement somewhere. Would you like to make me an offer?
