It is called the TurboHeader. It is manufactured and distributed by RC Specialties. It weighs 2 oz. which is 1/4 oz less than the stock muffler. From the exhaust port to the outside edge of the header is 7/8". It has a great tone and provides an average increase of 200-300 rpm. Contact [email protected] for more info. It will show up under new products within a couple of days.

Thanks for asking!

It looks cool! But such a tight 90* angle?? Well, can't complain about a 200 rpm increase!

Birman,

I don't have a website set up yet. You can contact me at the email listed above and I can give you the details. As for the 90 degree bend, it is machined with plenty of wall thickness and the material is very strong. Can't give out all the secrets. Contact me if you would like more info.

MST,

I will work on the audio. I am busy getting it on the market, but I will work on it. I appreciate your comments and it is very functional. I am a fellow modeler and it has worked great for me.

There are few parts available for the old plain 120. Your only choice is to convert the afflicted area with 120S parts.

The 120S is much lighter than the old 120.

Unless it is mighty cheep, pass on the 120. The 120S is current production.

How does the performance of the FA 125 differ over the 120? I have been flying the 120 and I was not really impressed with the performance. Of coarse that was mounted on a bi-plane. High drag, etc.

Any opinions?

Jim

Hey Dave,

Your right, sorry. I run 15% coolpower and a 15x8 APC. The engine is tuned 200-300 rpm below peak. It's strong and will hover the CG ultimate. A few years ago I ran the engine in a Sportsman Aviation P-47. I thought it would be faster than it was. I tried different props on both but never saw much better performance. I also keep the tapets adjusted.

Can't find the specs on the 120, but the 125 is the same as the 1.00 with a bigger bore. I expect the 1.20 was a bigger block, on the same framework as the 1.50 and 1.80. Seems that Saito si going more and more to oversquare designs, where the stroke for a given bore is shorter. The 1.25 is lighter and has a bit more power, and probably revs quicker, than the 1.20.

Looking in the Saito brochure, many of the 1.25's outer dimensions are actually SMALLER than the 1.00, such as the distance from rear of the case to the tip of the prop shaft, and from the bottom of the case to the top of the valve covers. 1.00 makes 1.8 hp, the 1.25 makes 2.2 hp.

One of the neat things about the 1.20, don't know if the others (1.25, 1.50 and up) do it, is you can exchange the intake and exhaust (put the carb on the exhaust side, run the pipe out the intake), and reverse the engine rotation. The valve timing was symmetrical, so no changes necessary to valve timing.

Exchanging the position of the intake and exhaust within itself does not allow the big block engines to run backwards.

You also need a left handed cam from the 300 twin to complete the job.
http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products...odID=SAI300T34

The Saito 125 is made more like the 100 and the positions of the intake and exhaust are not interchangeable

The 1.25 has about 5% more horsepower over the 1.20 according to Saito.
