RE: Club Enya
Would you please share what problems you have heard about running the VT240 inverted?
Would it possibly be glow plug related?
Or, I am guessing on this, could it be the angle of the "V" and when inverted, creates a vault near the intake valve trapping oil?
I have seen it mounted inverted. However, how it runs inverted I do not know since I haven't witness it running inverted.

VT240 at a net auction. The seller's discription was that he has modified his VT240 to a twin
carb model from the original single carb engine, he did it to prevent from unstable running on
inverted mount. That's why I thought the VT240 doesn't run well inverted.
His problem might not apply to all VT240 but only a few one like his.
His VT240 might not have had a symmetrical fuel flow for each cylinder.
I have used 60-4C, 80-4C and 120R-4C in the past and I have never had problems for them
even in inverted mounting, so I was suprised to see the discription, but I don't know if it was
true. Then I posted my question.

I thought all 240's were twin carb, mine is and it was purchased new in 1990. I don't think there would be a real problem running inverted but you may want remote glow at low throttle.

He took both intake manifolds and carbs out of his VT240 and installed
carbs directly to the intake ports.
I don't remember whether the carb was from ENYA or other brand
in the picture he posted. He took away the intake manifolds in short.
I didn't post a question how the defference was.
Someone made a successful bid for JPY55000(about USD500).
It looked difficult to be mounted in the nose nicely since both carbs
protrude to the outside much and spoil the beauty.

I don't know why anyone would move the carbs. They are mounted near centerline of the engine from the factory. Better you missed it.

in the picture was a very impressive scene.
The intake port and manifold on the original is located inside and exhaust outside.
He might have installed the carbs on the original exhaust port.
May be he had to modify the valve timing to make it.

RE: Club Enya
I found the auction page, yes he swapped intake and exhaust port.
He said that it was a pump version and it costed over USD500.00.
These are the pics.

May as well jump in here with my few Enya's!
.15, .19, .45X, .45CX, .60 2c, .60 4c, .90 4c, (2) R1.20
All great running engines. Seems like these are powerfull, long lasting engines as some are rather old. My .15 is 30 years old! It was my first engine larger then an .049. Got it as a birthday gift for a C/L plane and converted it to RC use about 9 years ago when I started into RC planes.

RE: Club Enya
I am trying to locate a source for a needle valve body for an Enya 155R. MRC has the entire Carb listed for over $80!! but all I need is the part the needle valve screws into that has the fuel intake nipple attached. Any suggestions?

RE: Club Enya
My first model engine was Fuji 099 for U/C airplane when I
was 13 years old. But the engine didn't start. I had to flip
for long time until the battery run out, but no luck.
With nitro benzol fuel and nichrome glow plug, I have had
a tough time in running engine with my first engine, although
it was a fun for me.
But Enya 09 which I bought next was much differnt from
Fuji. I bought Fuji first because it was a bit cheaper than
Enya, but I thought I should have bought Enya first.
Enya started easily with the same fuel and the plug.
I was excited when my U/C airplane flew in the sky.
I still remember that planes' design and color.

RE: Club Enya
Tsutomu Mabuchi,
The pictures don't show the Enya Motor mount and it looks like he added that pump thing too.
Phil Heller,
I'll see if I still have the parts master list. MRC should be able to get you just the needle valve housing assembly, it looks like a common part among several carbs. Call and speak to Carol or Tim. They are both very nice.

RE: Club Enya
Hello; For obscure Enya parts, and prompt service try Steve webb in England. Twice now they have found exactly what I needed and sent it off that day. I found them on google, using my Visa. The last order was for a valve adjuster for a open rocker 40, I got it in a week. Nowadays it's just as easy to order from Australia, or Hong Kong, or the states, it's down to who has the partsyou need.

RE: Club Enya
Hi fellows,
I am using a Enya VT 240 in a 85" wingspan Pacific Aeromodels Gee Bee Y Senior Sportster. It fits perfectly under the radial cowl, and is mounted upright. I added slots aft of the cylinder heads into the cowling to allow the heated air to escape, and no problems yet. I use self made exhaust extensions to route gases down out of the cowl. Mandatory for me is to use a glow driver, the only way to reach reliable and low enough idle. Prop is 20x7.
Engine does very well in air, nicely soft aerobatics including inverted flying without problems.

CX .45 Muffler?
>> I need to find a stock or compatible muffler, or muffler nozzle for a CX 45. The distance between the muffler mounting bolt holes is 42 mm. The engine also has mounting holes, for a tuned header pipe, with a spacing of 30 mm. <<
> Q. Can any of you fellow Enya enthusiasts help me out with information regarding CX 45 muffler compatibility to other Enya engine types, or other manufactures engine mufflers?
> Q. Or if anyone has a compatible Enya muffler/muffler tip/exhaust pipe which they are willing to sell?
> Q. Can anyone scan or provide a copy of the CX .45 manual?
>I downloaded the 45 page Enya Engines Spare Parts list from the ModelRectifier/MRC site, and the CX 45 muffler wasn't listed.
>Sheldon's Hobbies has the CX muffler posted on their on-line list, but after ordering it and waiting over 2 weeks, I called to check my order status only to find out that they had to order it and the irritated guy wouldn't give me a straight answer regarding expected delivery time... (but they are the only retailer that I could find who listed Enya parts...)
