Ring Replacement Question

I have a Magnum 52RFS that I am replacing the ring in (very low compresion compared to my other Mag 52). Do the cylinders in these motors need to be honed like any othe cylinder when rings replaced? I would assume so, but just thought I would ask before reassembling it. I have also already checked for leakage around the valves, that is why I am putting in a ring.

It wouldn't hurt to LIGHTLY scuff the cylinder bore with some fine (400-600grit) wet-or-dry paper and oil. Avoid any sort of vertical scuffing, and be certain to clean the liner thoroughly before use. Make the first few flights at a conservatively rich setting to let the ring settle in and you should be fine.

Good idea.
A little TLC on the cylinder bore before installing a new ring is pretty much SOP with any piston engine...our model engines being no different, except in the case where a plated bore is involved.
Ought to work out well. Have fun.
