Default YS 53 four strake question

Hi all never seen one before but i'm wondering how much power i could expect to get out of one. would it give the equivalent to a 46 2 stroke. i had an OS 54 and it seemed to have less power than a 46 2 stroke.

Cheers

properly tuned/propped it should be a bit stronger than a good .46.

The OS 4 stroke line and most other sport 4 strokes need around 25% more displacement to come close to their 2 stroke counter parts... this rule of thumb so to speak and has narrowed over the years.

The YS 4 stroke line is an exception... even though the OS 54 and YS 53 have almost the same displacement it would be like comparing a 4 banger to a V8.

The early YS 53's have had some problems. I would go with a newer YS 63. A YS 4-stroke typically has the same power output as the equivalent 2-stroke. For example, a YS 63 has the same power as a .61 2-stroke, and a YS 91 4-stroke has the same power as a .91 2-stroke.

Look,i
had a YS 53 FZ.
Not working good,only when idling.
Power was the same as a 70 4str.
YS engines are really powerful, but mine wasn't working.

Look,
you have many YS engines and as you say(...) they are running smoothly.
But,
mine was a very very BAD engine.
So i sold it.
I didn't say that YS engines are not good,
but i told that these engines are too complicated for ME!!
