Anyone have an inexpensive solution to keeping most of the exhaust system inside the cowl of a Goldberg Extra? Looks like all that's available is a stock 45 degree elbow, or a flex tube that I don't like. I think a 90 degree elbow would work. 14mm x 1 thread pitch, if you know of something. Yes, Slimline makes a complete replacement for $100.00. I'll make one myself first.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I tried Perf. Spec. but their elbow is 14mm on one side, and 13mm on the other. Won't work.
The inverted idea would not be that difficult as I have to replace the firewall anyway. (it's an Extra 300 not a Cub) I spent alot of time cutting that first cowl to fit the 120 indeed. The 150 will fit the same mount, and throttle links though. (I especially don't want to go thru that hassle again.) {yes it was a downwind deadstick with little altitude} I was concentrating on getting it
back around, and when I pulled back on the throttle, the onboard
system kicked in, and re-started! At this point, I was so shook
it had no choice but go in. Thanks again Stan

If you have access to real, high heat silver solder, I can help. I am currently running a Saito 1.80 with this set-up.
Contact me directly if you wish, and I will help all i can.

Well, It looks like I can't type fast enough for this forum, keeps disconnecting me. I think I have a solution that I can live with. The 120 thrust plate, and the throttle cable position, pretty much determines that I'll have to lay it on it's side again. (I don't want to have cable problems again, took forever to resolve that) After mounting everything, it was determined that only about 3/16 inch needed to be removed from the lower edge of the firewall for muffler clearance, so I'll trim it off, and fuelproof it all. Looks like it'll be tricky to install the muffler through the cowl, though. I appreciate all the ideas, Guys! Best Regards to all! Stan
