Default Irvine 120 Engine

My kingdom for a new Irvine 1.20 cylinder liner.

This is an out of production engine and I need the liner for an overhaul.

Thanks for the response.

It's got a few more hours in it so I haven't yet disassembled it. Just trying to get ready for when it really needs it.

S'pose hard chromeing the liner would work (if I can't find a new one)??

Yes, hard chroming will work fine.

But it may only need a little 400 wet or dry sand paper scuffing or a brake cylinder hone run through it.

Most worn model engines I've been around would have no wear ridge at the top of the sleeve. Worst case was usually a deep scratch somewhere on the sleeve.

I'm assuming it is a ringed engine. You can get a new ring from Frank Bowman. You can send the whole engine to him and he can do it all if you want.

groundlooper

Did you try Paul at JustEngines?

I have had success with his UK based business in obtaining parts for a re-build on my long out of production
Irvine .20 diesel.

Send Paul an email, he usually replies with 24 hours.
You can deal with him with confidence, his service is 1st class in my experience.
Parts will be sent to the US, no problem there.
