Brian,

The only visual difference I see is the pressure nipple that you had welded onto the header.

That shouldn't have any effect and tuning the header length and the 'stinger' might have more.

Dar, is that engine identical to the one you sent me?

Dave,

It was, but the Diesel head from AJC replaced the blue anodized original; and a new, 7 mm #3216 carburettor replaced the original 8 mm #3219.

All the rest is the same.

This engine as a glow version, with the #3248 tuned silencer (long version header), used to spin a Bolly 11.5x6 at no less than 13,600 RPM.

I just finished building a test stand. It was patterned after the VMAR but that where the similarity ends. The base is 3/4" aluminum and the mounting rails are 3/8 aluminum. The rails will close down to 15/16" inside dimension and open up to 3 1/4" (one huge engine lol). On the bottom there are 2 10-32 SHCS's for side to side adjustment of each mount. Now I have to figure out something to mount the stand on and I should be good to go.

Made mine small, light and simple... easy to transport and can be used on a picnic table or Workmate with a pair of C clamps

Cheers!

Here's my "Thrust Buggy" I use with a digital fish scale to measure thrust on different props. The block of wood on top can be removed and bar clamped to a table for break in running.

Thanks for that Daver, I have had a pair of skateboard axles and wheels here for 4 years but finally decided they were too narrow. I'll try it your way. I have my PSP mounted on (3) .5x6x16" oak boards laminated together using (2) hour epoxy. The center board sticks out the front about 4" and the PSP is mounted to that using a Bennett Built VibraLoc mount.

Jimmbbo,

Isn't that a Tatone mount on your fixture? Nice setup...

Bob
