I am now in the process of mounting a Perry pump (VP-30) on a OS-91FX. The instruction leaflet states "The small vent hole in the side of the plastic housing should face down". The way I installed it now, it faces sideways.
Should this make any difference? Who has experience with this?

They want it facing downwards so that dust and other stuff doesn't fall down inside of the housing. It doesn't really matter, other than you need to keep the hole open and free so that the diaphragm is free to move without trying to compress air within the pump.
