Default OS 1.60fx fi

Hey guys,

I am wondering if anyone used one of these with the computerized fuel injection module thing that comes with it now, or just as a new feature.

Any thoughts?

I am thinking on getting one for my bday and saving it for a extreme flight 74" yak or so, but I seem to be hearing many people having some troubles with the motor, but I am just checking.

Thanks alot.

I think it is a waste of money. Have you ever seen what they get for the .91 Surpass FI. You can buy allmost 3 YS 1.10's that will eat the .91 Surpass for breakfest.

Why would someone want to overcomplicate an already great engine ? ? ? []

Overcomplicate? You'd never have to set another needle, ever. So if you don't know how to tune an engine and want to fly, this is the ticket. In the mid 90's there was an add on electronic mixture control that used a temp sensor for feedback. I always wanted to try one.

Learning how an engine works, and learning how to tune it properly, is to everyones advantage, who is serious about staying in this hobby.

If you do not have the ability to learn how to tune an engine, then this device is for you !

Having worked in the hobby industry I can tell you there is no shortage of people who don't want to learn anything, just fly. Many of them are flying electric because they can just flip a switch and as long as they can follow an instruction manual it won't blow up.

Just like EFI is replacing carbs in sleds, watercraft, and motorcycles, if the pricing allows it will do so in models.

Ok this clears it up a bit,

Although I am a experienced with glow motors and often bring them to life where others can't, so this device is probably not too useful for me to have then.

Alright thanks guys.

Come mothers and fathers
Throughout the land
And don't criticize
What you can't understand
Your sons and your daughters
Are beyond your command
Your old road is
Rapidly agin'.
Please get out of the new one
If you can't lend your hand
For the times they are a-changin'.

I guess if "one" reads over the engine section, this statement fits many an R/Cer.[sm=bananahead.gif] Either this or start a thread on "How do you tune and electric?"
