I've always heard grain elevators can self ignite too. I keep a lid on my shop rags....

Dave,

I saw a small enya glow motor start with out an glow igniter being connected and hand proped. The engine was still warm from a flight.

I keep a lid on my shop rags....
It needs to be airtight and something with a high melting point. Even in an airtight container the rags could smolder enough to melt an airtight plastic lid.
