Thunder Tiger .75 4-Stroke
#2
I've been trying to keep my Visa card hidden, the new F-75s looks very tempting! It's about the same weight as the Saito 72, and it's the first Thunder Tiger 4-stroke released with twin needles instead of an air-bleed carburator.
Thunder Tiger is refreshing the F-54s and the F-91s with new product skus as well. Hopefully they'll see the same twin needle carburator as the F-75s. The F-54s is a solid engine, and the F-91s has a good reputation. The F-91s is pretty heavy compared to most other .91 4-strokes though, hopefully it will lose some weight.
The folks at http://www.infinitehobbies.com have the F-75s priced at $174.99. Have you seen it listed anywhere else for sale yet?

Big Ed,
I purchased a TT 91FS somewhere around 2001 and it had a twin needle carb. I don't think it was ever released with an airbleed carb. I got one of the early 54s and it did have an airbleed carb. (That one required some throttle barrel work to get it to work right.) I thought (as of a few years ago) TT started putting twin needle carbs on the 54s...? Can't quite remember. CRS disease.
Yeah, I'd like to have one of those 75s! Perfect gap filler between the 54 and the 91.
Any reviews out there yet?
Jeff

The folks at http://www.thundertiger4u.com are now advertising the F-75s for $169.99, and they ship all orders $150 or over for free.
As for where I got the idea that the F-91s came with an air-bleed carburator:
http://www.acehobby.com/ace/TTR9801.htm
"Precision air bleed carburetor makes adjustments simple, and efficient mufflers keep things quiet at the field."
Thunder Tiger and Ace Hobby would do themselves a world of good by updating their website with current, accurate information.

The 91 FS engine in the picture at the location of the link you provided has a twin needle carb. The idle mixture screw is inside the throttle arm.
Maybe someone will alert the webmaster... Looks like a typical copy-n-paste error. I'll bet the same statement is/was used for all their engines.
Oh well.

The F75-s has a twin needle carburator, as does the F-91s and the F-54s. I read all three owner's manuals to verify it. I also e-mailed Ace Hobby about the erroneous description for all three engines on their website.
Since their online resellers usually just quote Ace's website verbatim, it's likely that the item descriptions at eHobbies.com and thundertiger4u.com are inaccurate. The folks at infinitehobbies.com don't have item descriptions or pictures for most of their skus, so at least they don't have anything to correct.
Hopefully Ace Hobby will correct the error and mention it to their online resellers as well.
