Fox Miracle plug heatrange?
Can anyone tell me where the miracle plug falls on the heatrange scale? Also, what does the extended tip do? Is this plug similar to the OS "F" plug with its extended tip?
Thanks in advance, Mike

It is slightly cooler than an OS F. Runs fine, especially if the nitro percentage is about 5% higher than with the OS F.

Sport Pilot is right on the money. The Fox "miracle"plug is slightly cooler than the the O.S. "F"". In my four strokes I preferred it when running 15% or more nitro ... .
Big Moki's like the Fox miracle plug as well ...
The K&B Four stroke plug (patterned after the O.S. "F", with an extended tip, like the Fox Miracle) is slightly cooler again ...

Mike,
The Fox Miracle plug is cooler than the OS F, but as four-stroke plugs go, it is still a hot rated plug.
Four-stroke engines need a hot plug, so during the exhaust stroke, some heat will be retained and the catalytic effect of the platinum on the methanol will be vigorous enough to return the glow to its previous state, so it would continue to ignite the fresh mixture on the subsequent cycle.
Enya prescribe their own two-stroke #3 hot plug for four-stroke engines (without bothering to produce a dedicated four-stroke plug).

OK, guys, if you say so. But this begs the question: where do you get the heat-range data?

In the information provided by the glow-plug manufacturer, the heat rating usually appears.
