Try an "extended tip" glow plug; i.e. an O.S "F"; Fox Miracle; or K&B 4 stroke plug (available from from MECOA).
I have listed the plugs in order of heat range (hottest to coldest). Hangar 9 "H" and Saito SS plugs, similar to the above, may also be suitable, but I haven't any experience with those.
Choose the one that works best in your application.
Many R/C'ers running large 2 stroke glow engines inverted find that putting a 4 stroke plug in (designed for O.S. four strokes) really helps reliability. Apparently the extension on the tip helps ward off oil pooling and snuffing out the coil, which can be a problem at idle ...

for starters i would not have monted the 120 inverted. i would have side monted it. the glow plugs fiery recomended are a good start. the other thing the people that have inverted glow engines flip the plane over to start them. (crazy) the other thing you could try is onbord glow. if you can get it started but cant keep it running after the glow driver is removed. the other thing is a regulater for the pump. i have a 120 webra with a pump side mounted and runs great. so dont give up. c-crunch

If properly tuned, orientation shouldn't matter, although it may require different starting procedures to prevent excess fuel from collecting in the engine. Also note that some engines require a bit of time on them before they can be properly tuned. If this is engine is new, perhaps it will get better after it breaks in a bit more.
