I have an older (carb input at the rear) .61 ROSSI engine. I put a MASTER AIRSCREW prop on it and I can barerly get the hold down nut onto it.
Q) how do I extend my prop shaft so that I can get the nut on 100% --- let alone some kind of spinner.

....you have a ducted fan engine, with a short stud. Get a nut and a bolt with the
same thread as the engine. Thread the nut onto the bolt, and chuck the bolt up in
a lathe. Leave about 1/4 of the nut alone, and turn down the other 3/4 round until
you have about 1/8" "meat" left from where the threads are.
Now you need a thin washer that fits onto your turned-down nut. You have to bore
out the hole in the prop, so your new nut fits into in. It's a "counter-bored prop now.

Very probably so. This .61 has also been bored out to a .81 and from I'm told, the last time it was even used was in a fan jet system
Q) Any idea what RPM I should be able to turn? & Q) what fuel should I use?
I amgoing to use this as a PUSHER PROP ASYSTEM on a bumped up FORCE ONE. From the normal 36.5"WS to a 60"WS DELTRA WING.

Hi!
What you do is this! You get an aluminium spinner nut with a treaded flange that extends inside the prop.
Or if you have a Tru Turn alu spinner...a nut with a flange that goes inside the prop.
How many do you want?

....here it is, click on TRU 0826
It's the short shaft kit, with the correct thread.

I think that Tru Turn is the way to go. I sent BOB at Tru-Turn an email telling him what I have and left it up to him to tell me what I need to make my ROSSI work with the MASTER AIRSCREW 3 blade PUSHER PROP that I have on it now.
Much thanks my fellow RCers.
Some times I have to wonder how in heck did I EVER manage to build anything before this forum came along
Y'all have a GREAT day!
