And what would you do for the flange at the end of the tube?
Tom, what drawing is that? I don't know of an exploded view with red on it?

Thanks jaav.
Well, it certainly does not sound like it is dangerous stuff. They claim it is biodegradable and environmentally safe. Perhaps as Rev said, the dilution ratio with water is critical.

I have used and highly recommend Evapo-Rust. No mixing is necessary, use it straight out of the bottle. I have left engine parts in it overnight and nothing bad has ever happened.

Life is funny, I have a "natural" metal finish on mine, but would prefer a grey paint one (like a Corsair engine) too late to swap with you now )))

o
See, I have the best of both worlds. A natural finished one (Planet Hobby) and a jaavs ASP one that I am completely overhauling.
Currently thinking a a nice Logo to put on the front. @Tom How did you fix it to the case? Cut in small threads or rivet it?

I has a haul!
Got my bearings from a seller in Germany, and spare ASP parts from Just Engines in England.
I thought all the bearings were going to be German made, but they are not.
One has no ID at all.
One has the part number but no country ID.
One is made in Germany.
One is made in Italy.
One is made in Portugal.
Hey Patxipt, do I have to worry about the bearing made in Portugal?

Tom, I've been following your re-build for a while now. Good work! But with all the investment you made, wouldn't you have $ for an EVO or similar ? I'm NOT putting down this engine as I have one also, but if I had the money, would of bought a better quality brand. Just a thought V.

I would love to have an Evo radial. However I am retired due to disability and on a small fixed pension so hobby dollars are few and far between.

This brings up something else. I get my memories confused sometimes. I think I posted in here recently that my engine was a 1996 model. Can't be, as I did not buy this in 1996. I believe I got it in 2006, as that is when my first run video is from. I have only had it for six years, not sixteen. I apologize for any confusion I may have caused (besides my own!).

RE: ASP/MAGNUM FS400AR Rebuild/Overhaul
Working for an engine mfr its clear to us that people all over are struggling a bit. Fortunately the current exhange rates make our engines quite favourable on price against the japanese engines. Also our engines are used in larger scale models and so we are less effected by electric conversions. Still, times are tough for everyone at the moment i think. Its a shame as there are new engines i would love to produce but at the moment we cant justify the R&D

Ok guys..Have a look at our flying field. Perfect! Once the clouds cleared it was unbearable heat and humidity. And how I removed the UC from my Decathalon.
