My next plane is going to be a Global Freestyle. I am returning about $90 worth of merchandise to Tower and want to apply that credit toward an engine for the Freestyle.
I'm thinking of one of the following three engines, what do you think?
1) Tower Hobbies 2-Stroke .61 Ball Bearing ABC - $89.99
2) Magnum XL-80RFS 4-Stroke - $169.99
3) Thunder Tiger F-91S 4-Stroke w/Muffler - $179.99
I'd love to buy my first 4-Stroke; I love that 4-Stroke sound and have read that they are more fuel efficient (but harder to tune).
Any input is appreciated!

Out of the three, I would go with the tt 91 fs. Personally, I would go for an os 91fx, just for the extra power. or os 91 fs surpass. But if you are stuck on those three...go with the tt 91. It will give you the most performance out of the three.

All the engines you have listed are fine, but take a look at the Saito 72. It's very light, powerful and reliable and would perfectly suit the Freestyle.

is'nt a 91 a little big for the Freestyle, It calls for a 46 2 stroke and a 61 four stroke, I would say saito 72 would be the biggest I would go, 91 would be way too much wing loading.

I put a ys .63 on mine (my first 4 stroke). All I can say is WOW!!!
It will do everything with that size motor (and it balances well, though you may still have to add tail weight, move battery, etc.). I usually fly around 1/4 to 1/2 throttle (yes, even 3D stuff).
Go back to main page and do a search on Global Freestyle, you will find several threads and comments on people using different engines. Also check out the review on the main page, its pretty good.
