Mac Hodges,

John,

Just call Mac Hodges at Mac Hodges Hobbies 866-924-9505. He will ship it right out to you. His hobby shop is outside Andersonville, GA at the airport.

Hi,

Does anyone know how I can get the Miller unit in or to the UK?? I already have the Sulllivan Dynatron starter. I would also like the uprated switch and bracket.

I have tried emailing Mac Hodges, but so far have had no reply. I'm actually in Orlando Florida until Friday if it helps. Payment is not a problem, there are several options open including PayPal.

Best Regards

Mike

It would probably be best to call him at Mac Hodges Hobbies 866-924-9505.
They will need to know what size spinners are on your planes. Also, I would recommend using a 24 volt battery system (I use two 12 volt batteries connected in series). It's a great starter, and well worth the money. I modified the switch on my Dynatron starter, mounting it on the handle of the Miller starter. It works just fine. I can more fully describe how to do that if you'd like. Good Luck!

Has anyone tried a Miller Persuader / Dynatron combo with the Makita 18v setup?
I have a Fine Design base ordered for my Dynatron:

I fly both helis and airplanes, and want to use it on my 50cc Yak..

Thanks,
David

I was able to use the switch already instaled on my Dynatron starter; I removed the switch from the starter handle, keeping the wiring intact. I then simply taped it to the underside of the handle on Mac's Persuader and it works just fine. The Persuader is an awesome starter at 24 volts! I think it would turn over a car engine!

I took my Dynatron with the Miller reducer and made it up exactly like the one Mac Hodges has. Two batteries, 24V and all.

I used the same exact switch that he used in his picture, but I put the switch on the other side for left hand use as you push the switch with your thumb. It weighs 17.8 pounds

The switch is this Dorman one

I managed to get a couple starts out of the device before the side of the switch blew up.

I then replaced the switch with this heavier Dorman switch

I also added an audio crossover 10 uF non polarized axle lead capacitor from Radio Shack across the switch contacts and so far - so good - we'll see.
