Engine is about 5 years old with only mild use. Using OS no 8 plug and Byron 15% fuel. I cleaned out the low and high speed needle areas with pipe cleaners and airgun. I give a few primes and start it and it seems to load up and start running backward. I can get it on high needle OK, but transition is terrible with lots of hesitation. Thanks for any tips.

From: poway, CA,
Its an air bleed carb on the FP series. So I'm confused about the low speed needle. You should have an air mixture screw on the top front of the carb. Screw it out until the small hole in front is open. Back off your hi speed. Start the motor and bring up to full power and tune top end. Now bring it to idle and see how it acts. If its gurgling then shutdown turn the air mixture screw in a hair, back off the hi speed needle and try again. Continue this until you have it running correctly. Good luck!

Thanks for the tips. Yeah, for the low end I meant air bleed screw - oops. I now have a starting point. I'll let you know how it comes out. Thanks again.
