broken crankcase on YS 91 ac GO FIGURE
Hi Guys,
Been flying my ys 91 for a few years now without any major problems or crashes. This year I started it up and noticed that it was leaking raw fuel from engine somewhere. I changed sevral of the gaskets and all the fuel lines, but still had a leak somewhere. I pulled the engine and decided to sent it to YS service. Well I talked to them today and the guy told me I had a crack in the crankcase near the lugs?Has anyone ever had that happen to them without crashing? I did nose over a few times, but I don`t think it would cause this? Any ideas??
Regards,
Frank

My TT61GP split almost completely in half near the mounting lugs.
Never been crashed but always been thrashed.
Sometimes stuff just breaks :-(

How do you think the factory found the crack?
I've got an engine that spits fuel from somewhere and I've looked for a crack (re-gasketed, etc) and haven't found one. If there's a trick, I'd like to know it!
Tnx - LeeH

Hi Guys,
The repair was resonable, they replaced the crank with a used one. Also, changed the front bearing and thurst washer and a few gaskets for 138.00. I have`nt received the motor back yet, so I can`t tell you how it runs. I say if it runs good, then it was well worth it?
