I can't believe it...

All afternoon and nobody has argued the fact that a light model flies infinitely better than a light engine!

We're all either stunned into silence, or all agree with you.

Hmm, never get everyone agreeing on RCU (thats the fun) so must be stunned.

Got a reply from OS to my email:

"Mr. Sprankling

Very sorry for our late reply.

Thank you for your interest in our new FS-70 Ultimate engine.

A production will be completed between end of July and early August. We will ship to our distributors as soon as completed.

We thank you in advance for your patience for a while.

With kind regards

N. Shiomaki O.S."

Hopefully wont have to wait too long before they hit the streets.

I guess O.S. should build a lower powered heavier .70fs? Yes a light model flys better, but last i checked the motor is part of a plane? A light powerfull engine will just add to the enjoyment. Performance is what I am after. What do you want performance or high performance? I will take the highest level I can get. YS. But this could be a good engine kudos to O.S for stepping it up!!! ---Mike

Let's see if the 70 Ultimate can swing 13x6 @ 11000 rpm. The previous 70 Surpass I can do 10500 w/ APC 13x6 on 15%. I assume the 70 Surpass II could do a little better. I hope w/ the Ultimate can get to 11,000 rpm.

the test I read pretty much said the surpass I and II were identical powerwise. just corrosion resistance and plumbing had been changed.

If that is the case, yes it is a rip off for $80 more! I was under the impression it would pull 1000 to 1500 rpm more? I gues YS is still the leader. ---Mike

You would think a company like "O.S." could come up with something better than

"This exciting new 4 stroke engine has been born from the O.S.Company who pioneered the volume production of the 4 stroke engine."

That's like saying

"This exciting new Mustang car has been born from the Ford Motor Company who pioneered volume production of the automobile"

Hey, I work at Ford in the new 2005 Mustang program. Ford hasn't said such a thing about the Mustang. But we did say something about the Freestar like:

"The new minivan is so different, even the name is different"
