I'm about to buy an ASP .75 2 stroke engine and wanted to know if anybody had any experience with one? What size prop, nose cone and type of fuel (5,10,15% nitro) would you suggest? This motor will be going onto my Goldberg MIG-27 target drone, so not looking for a ton of speed, more power i'd say since i fly off a grass field with trees kind of close by. I need something to get me out of trouble quickly with a steep climb
Thanx

5% or 10% nitro fuel with some castor in it is the favorite fuel type of ASP engines. 12x6 or 13x6 APC should do fine on this engine.

Ok TR. I purchased my ASP .75 in 1998 to install in my Flying King model. Ran the engine on my stand before storing it away till the King was built. My engine box had a slip of white paper that stated, " For engine longevity, add three ounces of Baker castor oil to your gallon of fuel". I added the suggested oil to my Sig 10% all castor fuel for my test stand run in with a 12x5 prop. The engine seemed to enjoy the fuel mix, but did produce a good stream of smoke. Had no problem hand starting the engine from the first start up. Having just installed the engine in the King model, other chores have kept me from test flying the plane. I believe the engine will work well for you in your plane, but keep in mind that it is not a high rev race engine.
