I have a K/B engine, at least thats what is says on one side of the case. On the other side is just the number 3.5 in a circle. I did some searching and the closest thing I could find was the carb on the HB .25 engine. In fact, the two carbs look exactly alike.
As Paul Harvey would say, " And now.....the rest of the story." This engine is in a scratch built car that a good friend had built some years ago (I estimate 15). He was an engineer, so there were obvious flaws.
I don't like the carb setup; running of the fuel line and throttle control linkage. So, I guess my question is this: Can I put a slide carb on this engine? It would sure make life easier.
I need to get a new carb anyway since the idle set screw on this one is stripped out.
Thanks,
Mike
Edit: The poke at engineers was just for fun. I'm an Electronics Tech/Field Engineer, so the jib was a respectful one.

In the absence of a recommendation, what do I need to look for in replacing the carb? What measurements do I need to know? Can I use just any carb as long as it physically fits?
I'm new to the whole nitro thing, if you can't tell. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Max, thanks for the info. Not being real experienced with the glow engines, I wasn't sure even how to ask the question.
Looks like the average slide carb for a .21 is about $30. Not bad compared to $120 for an engine.
Thanks again for the info.

You might check the MECOA web site they may have something to help you . I have a K & B 21 rear exhaust with a Perry carb. A lot of engines in the 70's came standard with a Perry. Like I said I don't know much about car engines although I have rebuilt several for our local hobby shop . When you get it going ,drive down & see me , just south on 281 & a little East. Good Luck . Cheers Max
I just rehab'd an USA-1 Nitro. Put a Dodge Ram body on it to look like its big brother.
This car I'm trying to get running was homebuilt by a good friend that passed away a couple years ago. Kind of an homage.
I'll give ya a hollar when she runnin'.
