I need a new .61 engine, and I can no longer rationalize 160.00 for an OS. What about Tower engines? Anyone have any experience with them? Or any other idea woulw be appreciated.

Tower, Magnum, Thunder Tiger, ASP. All these run very well and are nicely priced.

I'd strongly recommend the Tower 75. It's a real powerhouse, flip start great, and weigh almost the same as the 61. For the price and performance, they are tough to beat.

Default For the money....

....the Tower .61, and .75 are pretty much unbeatable.
About the only motor that will outcrank 'em is the good
old Rossi .61....and they cost $229.00.

I bought a Tower .46 engine and my only complaint is that I cannot get it to shut off even with the carb barrel closed all the way. Not as bad as keeping an engine running though I think the carb leaks a bit of air around the barrell which keeps it running. I just put my finger over the muffler and that kills it.

Ouch! I choke the fuel line. Much better than a deadstick.
