OS 46?? Stumped

Default OS 46?? Stumped

Pulled this engine out of retirement ran well then, now will not stay running

low end is fine

high end is set perfect even a little rich

get her up , half a tank later she has no power to lean, I land richen 5 to 6 clicks goes back up fine plenty of power.

tank center line with carb no bubbles in line ??????

Bad fuel. Bad plug. Leaking backplate, carb or head. Gelled oil in the carb restricting fuel. Rusted bearings heating up and causing drag after running for a few minutes.

That's the list I would start with.

You might check the muffler pressure nipple and line to be sure they're clear and not restricted. Any air leaks in the tank like an uncovered 2nd vent or fill overflow will also cause what you're experiencing.

If you have to continue to turn the high end needle after flying then the valve itself may be turning in flight. I had this happen when that little metal finger thing (for lack of a name) that is supposed to keep tension on the dial loosened up. just a thought

Another problem could be varnish on the pisto or liner or both. This can easily be remedied with som 600 grit sand paper. :bananahea

Well I just switched it out, I'll take it apart look it over on a rainy
day. Thanks now I know where to start

If I boil it in anti freeze will that give a clean start
before an entire breakdown????
