Default Long term Glow engine storage questions

Hey guys. Well I just found out that I got accepted Officer Training School for the Air Force and a year of Pilot training after that. So it looks like my planes will be going into storage for awhile. I plan on removing all the engines from my planes to pack them up individually. My list of engines goes like this:

OS 91 Surpass
Saito 82
OS 55AX (2)
TT Pro 46 (2)
OS 20

What do I need to do to store these engines for a long wait while I go through school? Last time I let them sit a couple of them got rust on the inside and ended up costing me quite a few dollars in repairs (mainly bearings). Is there anything I need to do different for the two four strokes as opposed to the two strokes? What type of oil should I use internally to keep corrosion under control. They will probably be sitting in storage for about 1.5-2 years, just for a timeline. Any advice is greatly appreciated!! Thanks! [8D]

Flush them with a lot of automatic transmission fluid amd let them drain. Then pack them away.

Agreed about the automatic tranny fluid. Flush it out with liberal amounts of tranny fluid and then put it inside a ziploc bag. Put that ziploc bag inside a tupperware container and tape the lid on really good. Store it up high on a shelf where it is least likely to become flooded in the event your house happens to be in the path of a 100yr flood some day.

Antique engine collectors use Rislone Engine Treatment as a preservative. I have a friend who is a retired A&P mechanic and inspector who turned me on to it about 10 years ago. Works like a charm.

Congrats on your new assignment. Study hard. I was OTS at Lackland in July '69 and graduated pilot training in Nov '70(Class 71-04, Laredo AFB).

Congrats on your acceptance to the programs! I've had great success using Mobil 1 synthetic engine oil. Doesn't harden.

Thanks for the advice and congratulations guys! I have a few more months before I have to start taking them apart but it looks like I got some good advice to keep them like new. Now I just have to figure out how to pack up all five of my planes so they don't get destroyed in the moving process.
