Default Irvine 40/61 Motor mounts

Hi All Would like to know what engine mounts you guys are using for the Irvine 61 & 40.

I had used a Dave Brown # 5060 for my Irvine 53's, with no probelms

Tried a Dave Brown # 6070 for 60 size engine..The Irvine 61 would not fit between the beams.. Did some shaving on the inside to
get the engine to fit.. Engine mounting screw came right out the side..Not enough meat left

With 40 I bought a Dave Brown #4045 which was listed in there chart.. I think getting a 25 in there would be a miracle let alone a 40.

Let me know what mounts you guy/girls are using.

Thanks Dan

Check out the Dave Brown website. They list the important measurements for each mount and even have a list of recommended mounts for various engines.

Default Motor Mounts

Hi I did go to the Dave Brown web site to get information as to which mounts I would need..But they don't work.. They do suggest to cut them apart..
I was looking for a mount with a curve to it rather then a square one. The engine & mount would be a balsa cowl.

you could save yourself a lot of grief by getting a Great Planes adjustable mount they are a real problem solver.

I too purchase the Great Planes adjustable mount. It turned out to accidentally have some up and left thrust "built in" to it. Bummer. And it weighed twice as much as a Dave Brown mount would have.

Sometimes it is hard to find the right mount to fit your engine though.
