I have a new Super Tigre G20/23 just run in and mounted in a Typhoon 2 x 2 pattern ship. using recommended 18 x 8 prop. However, now discover that my retractable undercarriage legs are too short so that prop tips brush the ground. (Blush) I need 2 inches more clearance to accommodate the rotation on take-off and landing.
Other than fitting new u/c legs and doing a major wheel well rework, can i try going to a 15 x 10 prop instead, or would that cause the engine to over-run? Props (an all RC stuff) are expensive where I live, so its not that easy simply to experiment until I get it right. Any guidance on this?
thanks

I run mine on a 17/10N apc and it turns it about 8900. The engine is a little happier on a smaller prop turning in the mid to upper 9s, but my plane, Balsa Nova, likes the prop. I would try the 15/10 or maybe 15/12. Naw the more I think about it if I had one pick I would go with the 15/10.
