Default ABCvs ABN

OK guys. I've been in this hobby for a while. Is there a difference between the break-in procedure for ABC vs ABN? I usually run an ABC at a slightly rich two cycle for a while and then fly the model for full beak-in. Is ABN different?

Default Tapered bore

RCPaul,

Chromium plating is much more durable than nickel plating. It is also better binding and much less likely to peel.
The OS copper flash process make a better ABN bond, but it is still no match for true ABC.

Break-in procedure for all tapered bore engines, including plasma and composites is identical.

Chromium plating had a single drawback and it is an environmental issue. Chromium compounds from manufacturing, need more thorough treatment, so as to prevent pollution. So some manufacturers prefer the nickel process.

Sincerely,
