What prop for the1.60fx? I bought a APC 18 4W will this work in a 25% H9 540 edge? I would give up speed for thrust . Thanks for the help.

I haven't tried or heard anyone trying the 18x4W. I am currently using an 18x6W. The consensus seems to be either that prop or the Mejzlik 18x6 or 8 are good choices.

With the 18x4, the plane will barely fly. I'm afraid you won't have enough pitch speed. The engine will also be doing over 10,000 RPM, which is an awful lot for one this size.

An 18x6W will haul 15lbs straight up as far as you want to go. What more could you want?

I use an 18x6 on mine. Excellent performance. I have also used an 18x8, although this prop seems a bit much. All have been wood. My OS1.60 is on a Sig Extra 300.

i have tried the following:

18 x 6W APC slow spool up exellent verticle
18 x 6 Zinger Pro quick spool up exellent verticle (loud)
18 x 6 Mejzlik quick spool up 9600 RPM may not be enough prop

18 x 8 Moki Wooden Prop very fast prop fast verticle

3d i like the zinger pro,
imac i like the mejzlik, apc the apc braking is not great but good.

i like the moki for sheer speed at less than 1/2 throttle.

I'm using the os 1.60 FX on a 24% CGM Suk running a Zinger 18x10. Just right as far as RPM's go and vertical is unlimited.
