Default Looking for GMS muffler extension

My brother's OS .61 FX is toast and needs to replace it. Problem is limited budget that wifey will allow for a new one and we were looking into a GMS .61 as a replacement (I've had one for 3+ years on my Flying King and it still runs like a top). What complicates the issue more is that in his bashed 4-60 Start to replicate the BTE Venture he needed to add an muffler extension like this one to his OS to get the exhaust to clear the bottom of the fuselage: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...?&I=LXCA83&P=Z.

Does any one know of a similar extension for the GMS .61 engine?

Thanks in advance for your replies.

could try this

or maybe redrill the extension you have. (43mm on os fx muffler, 40 on gms muffler. this from center of hole to center of hole on the muffler)

Thank you Jimmy,

I was guessing that the OS muffler extension holes could be moved 1.5MM (which is not much) towards the center and it would work.

Cheers,

How about filling the holes on the OS muffler extension with JB weld, and then center punching for new holes. Then pilot drill with a 1/16 " drill, and step drill up to the size of the mounting screws? You could also just move one hole to the new location IF the exhausts stlll line up.
