Ok, guy, I need some help here:
I am trying to find the idle stop screw for an MDS .68. I found the online parts store on MDS's site and bought the screw, but have not received it. I believe parts come from Europe, so it may just take a long time, but it has been several weeks without a delivery. Who know...are they even in business still??! The site looks new and updated!
Anyway, does anyone know of an MDS parts dealer in the US? Or, does anyone know if the stop screw from another brand will fit this engine?
Any assistance would be appreciated I really need this part as it has been a very long time waiting!
Thanks,
Garret

Hi Garret...
The guys at MDS haven't answered to my emails since a couple of months, I don't know whats going on. Have you paid for that??
Horizon Hobbies in the USA used to carry MDS engines and parts, but I don't know if they have spare stock.
You mean the screw that gides the throttle barrel or just the screw that sets the idle speed on the c1 carb?
I think the scre is quite a common size within model engines, just try some/modify it. Those are normal screws!, if it were the barrel guide screw, you'll have to cut a screw to size and round the tip...
Saludos,
Jorge

It is the stop screw for the idle. Yep, I already paid for it! It was only $5, but still!
Thanks for the info I was looking a photo of the screw up close and it seems like there is some fancy notch work on the threads...maybe not...
Well, I will try to take a look at it later and see if I can get something to work. Unfortunately, Horizon doesn't carry any MDS stuff anymore. I called them and they said some engine company in the Midwest US was stocking their parts, but they couldn't find the name or phone number. I tried Googling for a long time with no results!

No special machining there, is just that some of this screws aren't all the way threaded, but you can use a full threaded screw.
Most likely that the screw is a metric 1.5mm screw what you need.
