Why does my engine make this noise while starting?

I too think the starter is toast.
If it got too hot, the magnets have gone weak, and all the current in the world will not let it make torque anymore. That is exactly what the vid looked like.

After watching the video a couple of times, i think the engine sounds 'dry' and also the way it stops quickly when the starter is removed, making the suspect starter work even harder.

I havent tried hand starting yet, as for the starter one day it got really hot and i saw smoke so i unplugged everything and let it cool. it still seems to work though. The engine turns fine WITHOUT the glow plug installed i have cranked it many times without the glow plug until the point where no fuel comes out anymore. But i still have the same problem when i install the glow plug

Did you see smoke while charging or while trying to start the engine?
If you saw the magic smoke escape during charging, it is most likely that you toasted the batteries. Either because the wrong cell count was selected or a cell went south.
Replace the batteries and I'll bet you starter comes to life.
For non-electronic savy folks. If the magic smoke escapes iteither becomes a paper weight or it needs to go back to the factory to reload the magic smoke (read as repaired).

I think i know the problem with your engine[8D] The prop. and spinner is sliding against the engine prop.hub so every time engine fires it sound like that but usually wont run. The reason for this sliding is the spinner. Remove the spinner and it should be ok.
Ofcourse the prop.nut can be slightly loose too!?
I usually avoid spinners for as much as i can and plastic ones are even more unpredictable.

Your starter battery must also supply the amperage to run the starter under a heavy load. The crappy sealed hobby batteries just don't cut it as far as I'm concerned. Stay away from them, I use a large lawn tractor battery to power my starter. I have no problem cranking small gassers (30cc and less) with a standard sullivan starter.
I don't matter if you are using a dynatron, without enough amps behind it, it will stall and smoke also.

About carrying them in the pockets, it was only ment to describe the portability of these batteries, I don`t actually do that of course

At 281 cu. in. I think it would.
Those 7ah just don't get it on an engine over .90 cu. in.
Incidently that Farmall 560 is still used every day in western Pa by a neighbor who bought it from us in 1976, we bought it new in 1963.

Thats the poop,,start it by hand to see if you can get it to run...if you cant, borrow a starter and see if you can get it to run,,if so voila!..its the starter...if not then its an engine problem...smoke is the magic that makes electronics work,,if you let the smoke out, they wont work right anymore...Rog

Finally got it started! i went out and bought a top of the line Sulivan Dynatron starter and it turns out my old one was fine the prop just was loose or something inside the nose cone. The guy at the hobby store was able to tighten it up in a couple minutes. Thanks for all the help though
