Hey Earl. Thanks again. The magazine just showed up. Some neat stuff in there about the speedster.

I got the gear legs roughed in. They look alright to me. I think the full scale came more to a point on the trailing edge, but I got it as close as I could. They ter from 1 3/8 in front, to about 1/4 in back. I'll glass them up and work on the fairings next. Makes the plane look more substantial to me.

Those really look nice Steve

You are moving right along. I am feeling frozen in place with my 2 active builds. I think this surgery 2 weeks ago kind of stomped on my interest. I will get it it back. Crap The wife and I just figured out I have gone under the knife twice since January and 3 times in a year now and facing more crap. Soon as I can drive that far, I will go out to a local flying field. That should jump start the building juices again

You'll get it back ken. Health reasons or not, we all go through that once in a while. I think.

Hey Steve Success and fame have now come to ya. You are #2 on the most active thread.
I am awed to be in such a prestigious presence as you. I'm not worthy, I'm not worthy.

Yeah right. It's only at #2 because of all the ball busting and banter, ( which I get a kick out of) . Ain't got nothing to do with the build. I'm now working on the wing and stab incidences( if I can find my meters, arghh!) and dihedrals. I think I got my work cut out here. I can't move in here with the wings on. I have to keep ducking under wings and stabs and bumping the plane and having to re-set it with the level and laser. PITA!

Yeah their algorithm just picks up activity, not content ...........................mmmmmm................. ...

oh wait some of that content is mine.................

Just messing with ya
off to an appointment pretty soon

I keep mentioning to my wife that maybe I could now drive to this or that "it is only a mile or two" I think she is about ready to take my keys and shove them some place I would rather not mention.

Ken

Yep setting all the incidences and angles is a real pain, specially if you are short on space and room

Hi Steve
I bought a Rearwin Speedster at a swap meet (96"), but needs a cowl. Could you measure the width and depth from your plans of the firewall area and let me know. If it's similar, I'll order a cowl for the Bridi from FSpec. \Thanks,
Spdwg

Well heck, if you already have keys, then why ask? See ya!!! I enjoy all the banter in between build updates. It keeps it lively. Kind a like the Ryan hangout. Good luck at the dr. Hope all go's well.

Yeps, ya gotta be able to take if if your gonna give it. I come from a long line of ball busters and so did my wife. You should see the trickery that goes on here. My poor kids get the brunt of it.but there thick skinned like us now too.

There are some places I know I am going to get as good as I gave, this being one of them.

The keys are stashed right next to the wife Steve. I made the mistake of telling her an old story from aver 20 years ago. My right foot was broke in 2 places and I was in a cast up to my knee. Could not work the gas pedal, so being just a bit clever and a lot stubborn I took some cable, couple of small pulleys , screws, drill. I was going to rig up a pull handle for the gas pedal. My wife (now X) came out, took a good long look at what I was doing, and just said "I don't think so". I never did figure out where she hid all the keys

Ok, so being about as frustrated as I can be, I just decided to take the day off from building to clean this heap, and maybe move some stuff around to make more room. I have 4 robart meters and can't find one. I know there all together, so that would make sense. Find one, and find four.i hate when the shop gets this bad.

(Sigh) I know its tough but sometimes you just have to break down and clean the shop! I usually end up cleaning up the garage the day before the wife goes out to load up the trash dumpster. She isn't as choosy about what she throws away!

Sheesh, if my wife ever helped me clean the shop, I'd be left with one airplane. ONLY. When it gets to the point when I'm spending more time looking than building, it's time.

Making good progress and finding lots of stuff I didn't even know I lost. Heck, I found an engine that I had no clue I had. I have no memory of ever having it. Hmm. Maybe I'm just loosing it.

No worries Steve, you may be losing it but I think you found it again! So what engine did you find buried in No Man's Land?

A thunder tiger 50 something. It's got colored fuel lines which is what's really throwing me off. I KNOW I've never used colored fuel lines. I'll probably just give it to someone at the field who might need it. A new kid or something.
