Hello all hope every one had a great day. Here are the wing templates I came up with for the 1/5 scale. If for some reason you can’t print them out to the correct size I can mail a set to any one.

I emailed about getting a cowl from them a few weeks ago and the response was that if it isn't currently listed on their site they don't have it anymore.

Fibertech has quit making most of their fiberglass parts including the cowl for the Pica kit. They still have pants listed but I suspect they'll go away as well. I had tried to order from Fibertech as opposed to the FGS parts because I thought I had recalled reading something in this thread about the FGS parts not being accurate/scale.

I also had to put off a maiden today. Went to the field, and the weather was almost perfect. ( aside from cold, I mean no wind.) by the time I got there, it was blowing probably 8 to 10 mph. It wasn't just the wind though. Just didn't feel right. I did get some fun flights on the decathlon though. Maybe next week. Good luck dan.
Quick question. And this is just out of curiousness. This 1/5 Waco will be my first time building from plans and having to cut out all of the parts,( aside from an old fly line Great Lakes kit that was just stamped on the wood.) question is, do you guys usually cut the parts as needed, or do you spend some time cutting all the parts and just basically assemble a kit from there? I know it's just personal preference, just curious.i placed an order yesterday for some of the balsa and ply, so now it's getting exciting. I can't wait to jump in. Steve.

Steve there is a whole subject, some like a full kit in front of them. Personally I just cut the section I am working on, wing, fuselage, tailplane. I find it keeps me more focused and fewer mistakes. Also there is great article on making print wood from plans, on page 40 in Model Aviation News magazine. You may find it helpfull.

Thanks Larry. This months MAN? I'm also planning to do only one section at a time. I will also stick to the order that the build manual states. So, I'm starting with the top wing. I only ordered the wood for the wings so far. As there getting close to the end, I will see what I have, and what I need, and get the wood for the fuse. Thanks for the info Larry.

Hello All,
David had his maiden flight today and I’m happy to report every thing went quite well.
I’m working on the video now takes about hour and a half to edit & render and about two hours to upload so should have it up latter on tonight.
Hey dan, thanks for taking the time to send me the rib temps. Tomorrow I get my wood order and start cutting.

Your welcome Steve I will be watching closely in your progress you’re going to have a great time building your Waco.
Does any one know if Gary Sibert is still cutting pinking tape and how to get in touch with him? I need to pick up some in 1/5 scale to finish a project I’m working on.
Heck yeah you'll be watching closely. Because you'll probably be betting bombarded with questions. Lol. Anyway, I'm not In much of a hurry, so I surely won't be breaking any speed records. This one, I'm taking my time and making it as perfect as I can.
