WACO YMF
Dan, I will have to take a photo of my blisters for you but I can tell you that they are very hard to get right. I have tried decals from different suppliers and still not all that happy with the result. Other people on this site have had better results than me but I will most likely end up employing a Signe writer to do them freehand. The decals that I have on at the present are two piece, black laid down first then the smaller red centred on top. As far as weight I have not an all up number as yet but a good guess would be close on 50lb

I'm not sure I understand why. I would draw the original size/shape and then "offset" that line for the other size. Identical, but different sizes.

oh yea, that looks about right! Nice plane!
Ctflyboy- it'll be a couple weeks before she can get to it. We'll have a race for artwork. I don't want any strife, or to step on anyones toes. We would probably make the design so it can be printed directly on the shirt, not silk screened. That saved $$$ on the shirts we made for my event, and you don't get the "sweat patch in the middle of your back. the only downside is that dark colored shirts don't work as the ink will disappear. I still want an "official" waco brotherhood shirt even if my lady does the design for another shirt. When we get the design finalized, we will send post it here for approval, then send it to a company that prints shirts. That way, if anyone wants one, any size or color they can call / email and order one whenever they like.

I am a free agent. This is going to be a Waco shirt, not a Brotherhood shirt. I still want a brotherhood shirt, but like I said before- I'm supporting my lady while she recoups from chemo. I'll be handing her cash whenever she needs it reguardless. This way, she gets "paid" for 'work' and I get a t-shirt design! LOL!
Anyway- we'll see how this parallel development thing goes. I'm not throwing anyone under the bus, just doing my own thing. Here is the image I sent her for our design- Yes, it's from a simulator, but it matches the plane in my garage lol!

Les the reason I found the decals difficult is because of the compound shape of the blister
and if anyone wants to tell me that they are not difficult then they are a better man than me or not as particular.

OK. I must not be seeing the same problem that you are.
Les
p.s. LOL; at myself. I totally lost sight of the fact that you were talking "decals". I had not, and would not have even considered decals on that kind of surface. My mind instantly started figuring out to paint them.

Just saw your post w/pix of your instrument panel. I know that is has been nine years, but is RC Outlaw still around? Or do you know anyone else who can provide such a neat and clean Waco cockpit?

ljrdburke, R.C. Outlaw still posts occasionally, he has chanced his handle to "Livewire" I do not know what if anything he may have in the way of cockpit pieces.
The ones I got from him were really old 9 years ago. You might want to check I fly Tallies or other suppliers. I have resorted to getting my instruments off the internet
and scaling them to size for the panel I am working on.
Good Luck!

Finally got the chance to maiden the 1/5 WACO today. Takes off and flies like a dream and landings are pretty much a non-event until the wind picked up a bit. Then it wants to float forever. Friend shot a vid with my camera, but have not had a chance to look it over to see if it's worth uploading.
Only tweaking was to increase elevator expo and second flight was much more enjoyable. That elevator sensitivity is likely due to the missing cowl. Once I have a bit more time on the engine and can lean it out will install it for good.
One other thing is I left the pilot out for these flights. Plane flies so gentle don't think the velcro holding him in will be a problem.

As promised, here's the vid. Might take a bit as I opted for a new "Stabilization" format and it's still processing:

Forgot to mention the first few seconds show a bit of up and down until I set the elevator trim. Aileron was pretty well bang on.
On a relative note, does anyone know how to show the vid directly in the post rather than just the link?

Strange as I can go direct from the link, (likely as it's my account). Perhaps that is due to it showing only 71% converting a few seconds ago.
Okay. Seems to be done now.

Been a while since I uploaded anything and yesterday had to shut it down part way through. Started with 260 minutes to upload and today took less than 30 to complete.

Have to ask you to try this one more time. Changed some settings and looks like it should work. Unfortunately since its my page cannot see any blocking.

It is now working fine in both your post 17467 and 469.
A super nice video to watch.
A professionnal pilot and cinematographer.
I can only compare to C-IKOS , my Super Skybolt
CONGRATULATIONS.
Thank you very much.

Thanks for the comments. If I have anything to correct it would be settings on the new Tx. With the trim increments still set to the default "4" value elevator trim is either up or down and also seems to depend on speed. With that huge elevator not surprised a little change has a big effect. Will reset to 2 and check the power trim changes when the air is a little calmer.
I have a Saito 125a bolted on the nose. Found it at a swap meet for $60 and it looked like it had very little fuel through it. Figured at that price even if toast it would have provided spares for my existing example. Previous owner had cross threaded the glow plug and let it sit so long the ring seized. I cleaned it up and hoping for the best ran one of my 1/4-32 taps through the head. So far, with approx 35 minutes running time and a plug swap it still seems to be holding. Want to avoid grabbing a TimeSert kit for just thisas it exceeds the cost of a new jug. Even though you get inserts for 4 repairs, in all my years of engine work cannot remember more than a couple that were scapped due to irreparable thread damage.
I've read of an identical 1/5 Pica sporting a Saito 180. Sure don't think it needs the power, at least at my weight. In fact, this one seems to be a fuel hog compared to the 125a in Rare Bear and at this point cannot really say much as I still have it choking rich. A 180 would almost have to be switched to ignition glow or gas to make the stock tank size adequate.
