tmac, the gear sure looks great, I can't think of a finer showing for the it then these birds. Let me know of any extrem trim adjustments you needed and how she does in flight also does she land easier-bounce-, this may help me with my 1/4 scale same gear. GOOD FLYING!!

wanna introduce myself
Hello all WACO fans,
my Name is Curt and i'm living in Germany near by Munich ( Bavaria ) and i'm building modelairplanes since more than fourtyfive years. I ever had a dream, building a large biplane with a big radial engine. Last year this came true and now i'm working since about fifteen month on my 30% WACO from Peter Barth with an 250 MOKI.
Now i have reached the stadium, where to build a lot of scale details an then put some colour on the fat bird. This is the colour sheme i have chosen:
And That's my WACO at this time on the bench:
I would be very happy, getting a member of the WACO-brotherhood and getting a t-shirt or two also.
If you all are interested in, i could send a lot of detailed pics of my building so far.
So far for now
greets and all the best for the new year and always perfect landings
from Germany
Curt
p.s.: Sorry i think my english is not the best.

Hallo Tmac48
I dont think so, the kit i bought from Peter is the latest version with a very strong made hard soldered 8 mm landing gear.
What i am searching for, are some 6,5 to 7 inch soft, inflatable tires.
What i have bought, are tires from FEMA, which are very hard and weight a lot.
Any tip? Hubs could made by myself on the lathe.

Touching on the tee shirt a bit is any one else a little disappointed with there shirts? The black on mine is fading out bad with minimal washing. Please let me know how yours are doing and any suggestions you may have.

Oh yes, the Color!
First i wanted to do this one:
Then my wife changed it and i'm happy with it:
but... i had to change some parts, ist a built 2011 YMF-5 SUPER ( 300HP ) , the rudder has another shape, the fairing on the rear wheel, the doors behind the cowling and so on.
Another difficulty is the chrome on the cowling, but we will see.
Tomorrow i will show you some pics from my building.

WOW! I'm always amazed by the creativity of scale modelers! My skills are nowhere near what I see here! I'm proud to be a Brotherhood member, and to be in such good company, but humbled by so much of what's been posted here! Great job Curt, and welcome!
WACOfan. I had a bit of an issue when it came to wheels. I found that the DU-BRO 6 inch tyre with a rim i made suited me best. The other wheels are 7 inch spoke P51 that the tyre was made in AUSTRALIA and the rims were cast alloy then machined by a friend. the smaller 6 inch wheel and tyre i bought from the USA. I believe that AMR in Canada has a 7 inch inflatable wheel for their Waco.
All the best

The 1/4 scale Barth kit it an excellent scale kit its a big plane but not so big one man can't handle. If your looking for a 1/5 scale kit they show up on RC Universe or e bay you can also order plans and templates from AMA and build it your self.
Good luck in your search.
