Elder 40, Wire attachment points
Greetings, Just wondering, I'm at the point of attaching the balsa blocks for flying wires (elastic) on my Elder 40.
Should the blocks be flush with the rib caps or recessed the thickness of the caps (3/32) on top/bottom.
Thanks,
Ray

RE: Elder 40, Wire attachment points
Ray, just my 2 cents worth here...
This is my second Elder (from the old Red Box kits, not Gold Edition). On the first one I put in all the bracing and wing "cables". Sure wish I hadn't. After one season the wires were so soaked with fuel residue I tore 'em out. The wing "tower" was left in place, but man those were some messy strings. On this one I just left them all off and have a very easy to assemble bird at the field without worry of snagging a wire on something.
Just my opinion.
