Default grinding noise...

when i push my throttle up, im hearing a grinding noise. like the motor is grinding against the main rotor gear. has anyone had this problem or know what is going on? i can't even get it off the ground now. hopefully it not the motor. [&o]

it could also be your canopy is touching the main gear or the gear mesh on the motor pinion and main gear are too far away loosen the 2 screws then try to move the motor close to the main gear and then tight the screws and give a shot

Or the motor could be too TIGHT against the main gear - loosen it.

FYI:
Be sure to check for MISSING TEETH on the main gear, when the brass motor pinion hits stripped-out teeth on the main gear while under-load it just strips out more teeth due to mis-engagement, so 4 missing teeth will turn into 6 to 8 missing teeth & so on.

There should be a slight amount of play between the brass pinion & the main gear, too much engagement results in excess friction, faster wear on gear, and reduced flight-time. Too little engagement will result in stripped out main-gear with any stoppage of rotor.

im having the same problem with a harmonic vibration between the pinion and the main rotor gear

it is not the gear mesh, it happens with the mesh all the way from almost too loose to too tight, and it happens only at high rpms

ive replaced the main gear and the same thing happens with the new one so i guess i will try replacing the motor or pinion

one thing ive noticed is that the main rotor gears both seem to be less than perfect circles, meaning the mesh will get tighter and looser at different points around the gear

not sure if this is just a product of bad luck or cheap production, is there a different rotor gear that will work on the AxeCP?
