I am considering substituting the stock Esky CPV2 11.1V,1800Mah battery, for the HeliMax CPV3 Battery,a 910mah,11.1V in my HeliMax CPV3,the 910 says 15C Cont. Disc.,while the 1800 say 20C Discharge, according to my calculations, which arent ALWAYS correct,IM thinking the only problem would be the added weight.
the 910 which is for the CPV3 is 85.1 gram
the 1800 which is for the CPV2 is 158.5 gram
I see LIGHT BULBS...........................[&o]
the reason being, with the 910 in the CPv3,I only get about 10 to 12 minutes............I WANT MORE!!

niteliter,
I may be reading this wrong but it looks like you want to pull out the 1800mah and replace it with the 910mah? If that is what you said then you are going the wrong way for more flying time.
If you are going from the 910 to the 1800 then I think it might be too nose heavy being that the 1800 is longer and won't fit nicely into the holder. The added weight might be the true problem here. The more weight it has to support to keep off the ground the less flying time you will have. I use the thunder power 1320mah 11.1 in my cpv3. It is the same size as the stock battery but it is lighter.
If you are getting 10-12 min consider yourself lucky! Are you pushing your batteries too far so they might get damaged? I get about 7-8 before it tells me it wants to land. My suggestion would be to just get more batteries rather than push the edge.
Another thing I would be concerened with is the tail motor. That thing gets super hot and a longer flight would add more time to the excessive heat and you might burn out your tail motor faster.
Just my two cents, Happy Flying

Im a newbie.......Ill hav to see if I can locate one of those batteries.
as faras pushing the batteries,as soon as the heli slows down,I take the battery out,let it sit for about 15 minutes, then charge it on the Thunder Power TP-610C at 0.30a for about an hour,to an hour and a half,it beeps when done........and then I recheck them with the cell checker, sometimes they will be 1 volt over, but the cells show each show very close to each other.

When I got my Axe CP v2 I found a place on the net that was selling Hyperion velocity lite packs. Only a few mm longer and a few grams heavier. The place I bought them from was www.purehobby.com, but it seems they have gone out of business.
Plus, all the hyperion batteries are rated to be charged at 2C if you really want to get more flying time. They are also about to release batteries rated for 5C charging.
Note trying to be a brand horror or anything, got nothing to do with them. Just love all the programing features available to me after buying network cable. And even though the velocity lites are only rated for 12C 1340ma I have never gotten them hot flying, nor hot after charging at 2C. lipo pouch used anyway though.
I tried buying more, but got shipping RcLiPos packs instead. Was told that they were better capacity and current wise, but I don't know if I got hosed or not.
