Did you have to change the linkage physically? I can, but would rather not. That way when it's time to move on up, I can simply put the original crystal back in, dig out the original tx, and it's ready to go bye bye.

No, the only physical change I've made to the heli as of yet, aside from replacing crash damaged parts, is to put HS-55's on it.

I'll hopefully have some drastic changes this weekend, though. My replacement brushless motor should be here soon; the last one was defective right out of the box. Someone at RCGroups also posted this link from Helimax about [link=http://manuals.hobbico.com/hmx/hmxe04-gyro-manual.pdf]using a heading-hold gyro[/link] with the Axe, and I think I'll do that also.

Anyone have an ARF fixed pitch airframe they'd like to get rid of? (GWS Dragonfly, Honeybee FP, etc... with motors, servos not necessary) I'm going to need a place to put my 3-in-1 after this weekend is over.

After flying airplanes for 25 years, I wouldn't have believed it a few weeks ago, but the little thing will fly. Maybe I should say, I can accually fly the dang thing. Getting some good forward flight now (big figire 8"s) and can even get the little thing to come back and land where it took off from. Flying the tail can be a challenge. Gyro doesn't do much for holding a heading. If I go to full collective it will do a couple of quick peroettes before I can get the tail captured. Maybe my gyro isn't working right. I have nothing to compare, so wouldn't know the difference. I know it is working some, because I can disconect the main moter, with the tail roter operating ,yaw the heli and the speed of the tail roter changes.

Going to get better with the CP and then I'm going to get a Raptor 60 (because I have an engine for that size heli) then look out I'll really be dangerous.

Does Anyone have any major problems with the Axe CP. I would like to buy The Axe but I don't whant to waste my money. Is it worth $200.

I like mine. It comes with everthing you need to fly it out of the box. It has been test flown and setup so you put on the blades add the decals fix up the training gear,add Batteries to the radio and due your pre flight. and take off.

The reason I got one is i can parctice indoors this winter and have some r/c fun.
I am happy with the heli and have broken a tail blade (lhs BladeCP tail rotor blade 2.99) compared to $8 something. the other night I came a little to close to the total gym and blade strike. broke of a ball link end on the Stabilizer Control Hub so I ordered one form tower. $3.59 part $3.99 S&H Oh well. Should have it Tuesday.

All In all i like mine allot. Like i said 1st Collective pitch Heli It's Cheap enough for what you get and strong for how small they really are.

My one and only complaint about the AXE is parts availability. But, this should work it's self out once it has been around a little longer. As I recall, the Blade was the same way when it first came out, and now parts are all over the place.

Some folks have had problem and complants. I myself have had no major problems. My largest complant is the parts availability. This is a new heli on the market and spare parts production has not cought up with demand. Overall I am happy with mine. It is a $200.00 heli so you get what you pay for. I like mine because it is a little larger than Blade and more robust. I have never had a chance to fly a Blade so I can not compare how they fly. If you need a better quality heli then check out a T-Rex,however, be prepared to spend much more money. I think of my Axe as a gateway heli/drug that will lead to bigger and higher quality machines. Heli's are like drugs,you seem to get hooked with that first hover:D

Issues with mine was a servo failure which caused a crash within a week but covered through the company to fix all broken parts.
The battery is nearly a joke but okay to practice hoovering with.

They ended-up sending me a new helicopter.
I don't even want to attempt to fly it.

Other than parts availability as stated above, its a great Helicopter. Usually with an RTF the transmitter is low quality, I was surprised by the quality of the tranmitter.

Just spend some extra money when you initially buy it and upgrade the battery and buy some extra parts so you will have them on hand when you wreck.

what is the best battery to use to replace the 10.8v,low flight time is killing me,can i use an 11.1v and not harm the electronics

Yes you can it won't hurt a bit but will give more power and last much longer.
11.1v 1320 mah TP is what I use

As long as you can fit them in there safely you will be fine.

I thought the Blade CX used a 7.4 volt battery.

If it is a 11.1 volt battery, check the Mah rating. At 700 Mah you can expect the same flight time as the stock battery.

Yeah you need to get the 11.1v 1320mah
TP fits fine on it's side I added a peice of anti-viberation foam on the bottom and back of the heli to snug her up.

I just ordered an Axe CP from towerhobbies yesterday. They just got it back in stock. Hope I get it in within the next week. Looking forward to learning to fry.

Just got done flying mine. still have 11.23 in the battery and will take her up again after cooling.
Gotta love hovering in the basement.

pilotlight your are so right ,looked at the blade battery and it is 7.4v,tried to order a 11.1 from tower, but the needed adapter isnt available until mid march,so the search continues,crashed my heli today,bummer broke the center hub,but ower has them instock so i,ll be up and flying again tues.
i did find out tho she has no sense of humor when it comes to ordering multiple parts,lol ,but they do have a lot of the axe parts in stock

I need some help

when i spooled up, my heli tap dance all over the place. I have changed the main shaft and swaped heads with my 2nd heli and i still have the same problem.

My friend just got an Axe CP and I, having tried a Sabre for a short while and flown planes for 10 years collectively, helped him set it up. My Sabre lasted only 1 flight before the tail rotor motor stopped working for no apparent reason and it felt and looked more fragile than the Axe. That's a BIG plus for the Axe, it's head assembly is much beefier.

The only downside I see is the stock Ni-Cad battery doesn't last long enough to get any good practice sessions in. The 8-10 minute MAX flight time got old quick so I used an odd-ball Li-Po of mine that I bought off Ebay for my plane and we practiced hovering for just under 30 minutes!!! No exagerating! The battery used is an 11.1v 1800maH with a 9C rating and 12C Max Burst and it weighs noticeably less than the stock battery. I was told by the LHS electric guru that this is safe... he said that the C-rating "Burst" cannot exceed what the Axe's ESC can handle and to monitor the temperature of the electronics for heat. I don't remember the name/make of the Li-Po but i'll get it if anyone's interested in knowing.

30 minute practice sessions are a blast. My friend and I made leaps and bounds of hovering progress during these sessions and I was even throwing in full right tail rotor for 360 degree spins.

After well over +12 practice sessions my friend's Axe CP tail rotor blades bumped on a garage door twice (no damage) and then the main rotor blades thwapped into a sled leaning up against the wall and... something broke.[X(] One of the main blade grips broke at the ball link area . No problemo:D, for $3.22 a new pair of blade grips were bought at the LHS and 5 minutes for installation and it's good to go!


Now i've GOT to get an Axe of my own!

Blades, stab hub, tail motor mount, tail blade (blade CP) to replace that and a flybar. waitng on tower to ship. about $45 in damage. the main blades are the most. I think $21 something is high for them but what are you gonna do.

Here is the 1st time I had her outside. It was a blast :Dtill the last flight.
