Default Hitec servo problem?

I have a new Hitec HS 945MG. I installed it in my jammin x1 for steering and when I turn it all the way in either direction and let it go back to neutral it goes all the way in the other direction and doesn't straighten up until I turn it in the direction that it is stuck in. Any thoughts as to what could be causing this?

Try the servo with the steering linkage disconnected. It sounds like you may have binding at extreme travels. Have you adjusted end-point travels to prevent overdriving the servo and binding? Some transmitters have a function known as end-point, travel volume or ATV to limit servo travel. However properly setting up the linkage mechanically is the first step.

What kind of batteries are you using?

Michael, I have a HiTec Retract servo with a Airtronics Tx. The servo turns to only one direction to its end, however, stays there and does't travel to the opposite direction. local hobbie shop said its the servo. What's your take?

Retract servos are not proportional, they move all the way in one or the latter direction. Since this is the case many damage the gear-train initially as ATV or travel volume does little to noting. Yes I suspect the servo is at fault. Try another servo on this channel to validate the problem is not of the TX.
