Close enough to stock. When youve reached your top end limit, id like to see how the truck performs geared for bashing. Whats the right ratio for wheelies and top end.

Yes that would b interesting but I bet it would not wheelie with these gears I'm running now let alone where I'm headed .

with all stock gearing this engine should be able to hit 54 MPH with stock tires...and would have violent wheelie power ............

Thats about what I was thinking. Actually geared higher than stock. I think the right combo will be a little on the high side. Im running 19/44 on a std length 14lb truck and it pulls wheelies at will. ERCM Picc and pipe. From what Ive seen here, I would think Steve would be running that at min.

A 43 or 44th spur retains all stock aspects as far as mounting etc. I think 19 or 20/44 would be a nice fit. I guess well see.

Weve seen theh Nova scream. Im waiting to hear it grunt lol. Im considering trying some steep gearing on my truck just to see what it will do. I want to get a vid of it now though for comparison, but its 50deg and raining here for 3 days now. This sucks. I guess when I go back to work, it will be 70 and dry.

why would you run such tall gearing ? other then to tone down the acceleration I am not sure I see the benefit of such high gearing for bashing........... Other then onroad I don't even see the need for 50 MPH......So why gear to go 65 ? Unless your doing top speed runs aren't leaving performance on the table by running such gear ? I am used to running 40 000 RPM at 45 MPH and having bungeee cord like acceleration for jumping.........I guess if the truck is just going over backwards all the time you need to gear up............ Anyways been a while since I ran a Savage and am not seeing the logic of such tall gearing other then to tone the power down...

In the Nova vs Picco contest I would say both make comparable peak HP and peak TQ figures, but the Nova has a fair bit wider useable powerband with quite a bit better top end runout....For a 28 it is a rev monster......he Nova makes good torque too, they have been starting to take some trophies in the weight pulling trucks...... Also does very well in oval too.... I

This is a terrible quality vid, but it shows how easy the Picco wheelies with 19/44. Any lower gear, the truck would be on its lid all the time.

It was lean towards the end. One of the roof slides busted the fuel cap.
