Default side chassis braces for a savage?

i have seen these on ebay several times. are they just for looks or what? i dont think there is any way a savage could flex in the area these bolt to. just seems like a gimmick and unnessesary weight to me.....what do you all think about them?

These do add some strength to the chassis and only weigh very little..............but i would think it is more for bling

And i like Bling

This is a weak point on the savage if you hit something at speed that doesnt move []

Like Richie said, they do add some strength to the chassis!! I like those things and have them to on my savage.28,and this beast weights 6,54 KG pretty heavy with the aluminum stuff on it.

The RC solutions rollcage is great! Everything is in security with it. Till now no problems, its only difficult to pull the pullstart and changing the hump pack! A fine hop-up!

I am going pick myself up a set of silver Integy ones to go along with my red and blue chassis.

This is the only good part from Integy. I don't like using the Center Skid Plates, because the block access to the engine, and steering. (I have enough things to move out of the way to fix it.) The Side bars act like a skid, but still gives me access to everything.

My GPM center skid plate has access holes to the engine mounting screws and all the other nessasary places plus one I added for the steering servo horn, so I dont have to remove it if I dont want to...[sm=tongue.gif]

I have never been sure about those braces... wouldnt a 1 piece skid plate provide the same protection against chassis twist and be dual purpose?

Richie - What do you make of the Tsais Badboy? it certainly makes my Savvy less likely to get me an ASBO..... goes well too.
