RE: i need air
you mean A-Arms, Turnbuckles, diff cases, tranny, and the fact that there is no roll bar at all.

RE: i need air
Well, everything listed in the first post of this thread describes the Savage.
I have enver owned anything but a Savage. So I don't actually ahve a hands on experience with the other available trucks.
But I can tell you that the Savage is what you are looking for and that you won't be disappointed with it.
I bought the Savage 25 back in December of 04, then got the SS 4.6 a few months later.
And I am very pleased with these trucks. They are 'very' durable. I beat and thrash my S25 and it keeps asking for more.
You can't go wrong with a Savage. Well, unless you want to race.

RE: i need air
the LST is an awesome truck, but your going to spend some coin (on top of the already hefty $600 price tag) on the things to make it tough RPM arms TI turnbuckles, aluminum diff cups, and a good roll bar, but there is no other truck that handles or turns like it.

RE: i need air
I bought a Savage SS 4.6, my brother bought an LST, and my nephew bought a Revo. These are all our first MT's, so we're all equal newbies. My take on the three:
Savage - Incredibly durable!! I've wrecked this thing in ways that would make your head spin, and the only problem was, well... NONE!! I did the Ofna fuel tank mod, replaced the stock clutch shoes, and had two melted spurs (none since replacing the shoes). I think I have about $650 in it. This is probably low, because I was given 1 servo and a radio system.
LST - After the original $600 price tag and about $350 in upgrades, my Savage smokes it!! I will say, though, that the truck looks awesome, and now, after the upgrades, is pretty "bashable".
Revo - This truck is in a different class (1/10, smaller engine, more of a racer), but the handling is super. On straight-aways, it has no chance against the Savage or the LST, but in the corners... Also, aside from an upgraded cooling head and replacing o-ring on gas tank lid (messed up in a crash landing ON THE GAS TANK!!), nothing has broken on this truck, and this kid drives like a maniac! I think this one has about $750 in it, after upgrading the radio.

RE: i need air
I used to race on-road cars and wanted an off road vehicle for the same reasons as you and I got the Savage 4.6SS kit. I decided on the Savage for these reasons:
1. I raced HPI on-road cars with great results
2. The Savage is extremely tough and is the most scale looking with the TVP chassis
3. Savage parts are readily available and easy to find

RE: i need air
^^^ Same here. My roll bar has taken a beating. I'm sure it's saved me a lot of damage. I've had to use a hammer a few times to bend it back straight.
LST looks to be an awesome truck. With the top-notch radio gear it comes with, you would spend the same on an SS4.6 with a JR-XS3. I've heard the losi makes a better racer, but i can't see it being MORE durable than the Savvy. I've pounded my savvy hard, and i've only scratched the cooling head, and bent my roll bar. It is as tough as its rep, or tougher.
