SH .28 PULL START PROBLEM. HELP!!!!!!
Any help with this problem would be greatly apprecitated.
I have an Savage 25 with the SH .28 in it. The problem is that when you pull the pull start it doesnt always engage. About every other pull the piston isnt moving up and down. I can tell because there is no tension on the pull. And when you take out the plug you can see the piston sitting still. I have taken the whole damn engine apart twice and put it back together and saw nothing wrong. I have replaced the pull start. All of this has been to no avail. Any thoughts would be very helpfull. RE: SH .28 PULL START PROBLEM. HELP!!!!!!
Before replacing the one way take some Brake Cleaner and spray the crap out of it. If you are breaking it in or have recently broke it in you were probably running really rich at some point and the nitro oil probably gunked up the bearing and caused it to slip. If you havent done it yet I would recommend sealing the back plate to the engine with some kind of silicone, and also sealing the carb into the engine too. One way bearings dont break that often, especially with a pull start, like said above make sure the bearing case isnt cracked and clean it up really good.
